We Are Going On A Trip
well, maybe. Now everything is going the way I had expected: A Series Of Unfortunate Events.
We decided not to fly because we would have to rent a car for a week anyway - the nearest airport is 2 hours away. We decided to rent a car. so we have one reserved.
Except - the extra cost for the insurance is $200. So - we decided to take Lisa's car. Except - yesterday the back brakes started rubbing. Today we took it to the dealer - the one where we had it fully examined and fixed about one month ago - and left it there, and we shall see. (Probably $200 - ahahahahahahahah)
I have not canceled the reservation for the rental car. I will wait until the last possible moment. Maybe we should get airline tickets, too, just in case?
But it has been my experience that no matter how many backup plans you have, they can all topple down like, - not dominos - that assumes one thing falling and causing other fallage - more like a kaleidoscope - a whole string of totally unrelated events trying to create havoc.
we are going to the edge of the world with our family of children and grandchildren for a meeting of the minds, even if we have to limp in there in a uhaul truck, with an iv stand and doctors and nurses. Yeah - that's the ticket.

..and no matter what condition we all arrive in, it will be fun. We'll all get there one way or another! :0)
Do you have AAA? We went to the local AAA store near us and picked up a bunch of maps, books with area attractions, etc. They were all free! We needed to figure out to get from Richmond, VA to Corolla, No. Carolina (it's going to take about 4hrs.) Looks like there's a lot to see/do along the way, too!
I'm happy to pick up some maps, etc. for you guys. We could just rush mail them your way. Just send me an email and let me know and I can go pick them up this week!
