It's Nothing But A Thing

It snowed last night, THANK GOD.

Have I gone insane? Why, yes - yes I have.

I'm tired of cold weather and mechanical difficulties. By mechanical difficulties, I mean ALL things mechanical. That's what I have difficulty with; from cars to doorknobs. All of it. Printers that will do anything but print.

The Big Mean Car was lovingly refurbished but sits around and plots more mischievery, and it seems to be contagious to the Little Girl Car which has taken to randomly letting the air out of its tires.

Printers hate me, and have always done so. I don't even want to talk about doorknobs; because that's been a life-long problem.

Tonight I am going to hook up digital HD rabbit ears to the TV to see what happens.

Say the time

... that's what my boss wanted his computer to do. Every hour, so he could get up and stretch, because he has back problems.

I do everything too hard, I think. Within 10 minutes I had an alarm system downloaded & installed on his computer that would go off whenever you set it to go off - but only two choices of alarm sounds , "flat line" and "space launch". Having listened to "flat line" - yeah, it's what you might think it is - a cardiac monitor sound - I knew that wouldn't work so I set it to "space launch" , left, and promptly forgot all about it.

At 12:00 there was a horrendous noise out of the boss's office - he had left his volume set on "high", too - and it was a full blown NASA space launch, complete with countdown, rockets, liftoff, etc etc, going on and ON. I went RUNNING in there - luckily he thought it was funny. I have never seen him laugh that hard before, and that is a good thing. For me.

I found him a dang program that just speaks the time, now. But it is a temporary trial so I have to go hunting again....
