I'm Going To Live After All

So all is good. Well, except that now I have radioactive blood mingling with the cat food particles that were already in there, so who knows what will happen; I don't suppose it's ever happened before. and just try getting through airport security! hmph Not that I want to fly so it's not important right now.

The important thing is that I fled that place finally even if I do turn into some kind of mutant freak.

Mercy has been mad at me ever since I got home; I don't know why. So I'm taking her butt to get groomed tomorrow, and the whole rest of her too, why not? easier that way. In the morning, and the Bob and I will go have breakfast and do our weekly gizmo shopping while the grooming is taking place. Payback.

And how are things with you?

The Rest of The Story

As you may or may not know, I had to have some tests done at the hospital and ended up there for a few days (nothing serious). But the morning of the day I was to leave, pending test results, pending morning COFFEE, the whole hospital was evacuated due to a gas leak caused by construction. Delaying my departure, and worse, delaying my COFFEE.

I'm taking this personally.

4th of July

Picnic. Our yard. Come.

yeehaw!

Cats Will Kill Me

Sliced open a toe with cat food (you don't want to know) - which proceeded to bleed all over the kitchen, which interested the cats who were sniffing all the blood drops - now, I don't want any of these cats to take a liking to my blood; I'll be afraid to go to sleep at night. Bob decided this was an auspicious time for me to listen to answering machine messages - while I'm hopping around bleeding, and trying to mop up blood. "CAN WE DO THIS ANOTHER TIME PLEASE?"
I swear I don't know how he thinks, sometimes.

And today at the store it started bleeding again, mightily. We had to go home. Nurse!
I suppose I need stitches but I refuse to go through ALL THAT. How much blood can a toe hold, anyway? It's not even the big toe...

FYI, there were no warnings on the label about toe cutting. Just saying.

Tis A Rose

Yes indeedy. In the back: we have one the one up front, that only had one flower last year:

We buried our dog last weekend, so that's done. Now we may have to make room for more, because Oscar's weight loss has been tentatively diagnosed as cancer - ruled out hyperthyroidism, which would have been easily fixed. But! He had a tapeworm, too (from catching mice - he's a good mouser) and was treated for that, too. I'm pinning my hopes on that it was from the tape worm. (go figure) and maybe now he will fatten up. He seems to be happy. but he is 16 years old so I think that's 80 or 90 of our years? Yes, we lose old cats and young dogs. But Daisy was 13 or 14 so that's not so young. She was too wicked to die young.

What does that vet know - probably the tape worm, yes.

Glenn's Global Unwarming

On Tuesday. and he says that is NOT a bear ( do we believe him?) but it is his Newfoundland puppy, Angus, who may reach 150 lbs. Fits in nicely with the five/six-teen Jack Russells. Can't miss him.

We Are Burying Einstein

... not before time, I'm sure you are thinking. But he was cremated and I have his ashes.

We thought we would bury him on his birthday, which is in June but because of the way I am, I have forgotten the exact day. So tomorrow I will call the vet and find out, maybe, if they haven't disposed of the records, too.

Last summer this time he was here, and was fine.

dang. I should have taken his ashes to the ocean - I always told him one day we would live on a beach and there he could run free. But it would have had to be done in the dead of night, I think.

Tired of burying pets. there has to be one, finally, that will outlive me.

New Lilac Tree

We planted this last year; it's doing very well:

I tried to be outside most of the day but this afternoon's heat sent me in the house finally (90's). Yay!

Dolphins?

OK, David says the pic of dolphins is actually pelicans and having zoomed in on that one and a few others I think he's right. I thought it was the dolphins jumping because that is what they looked like and the pelicans were flying right along with them. Maybe they are the little splashes right behind the pelicans? Didn't get the shot when they were jumping. sigh. Did ANYONE get the picture?

beans.

Update:
Oh, I no longer care - pelicans, dolphins, what's the difference. I'm just tired of looking through pictures and not all of them are up yet. we will pretend they are dolphins, why not? works for me.

Update:
this is the dolphin later that week that Boob got. (He has more.) Not as close, or as many, but definitely finned. Oh noes - what if it is really - a shark?

dadgum elusive dolphins

Update:
Definitely dolphin (from Boob) but not the right day.enlarge it. Definitely dolphin-like material.
I'm tired of it now and Bob is calling pelicans, "penguins" or "peacocks" so I don't know how to answer his questions. or even what the questions are.
